Today, 17th September 2026, HMCPSI published its landscape review of the CPS’s recent activity related to ‘honour’-based abuse. This represents the first phase of an inspection of the CPS’s handling of this particularly complex and harmful form of offending.

The evidence from this landscape review indicates that important developments are underway across the CPS and among partner organisations. Providing time for those changes to take effect and become embedded will allow HMCPSI to more meaningfully assess their impact in the second phase of this inspection.
