Serious economic and organised crime casework

Published:

Today, HMCPSI published its inspection of whether the CPS’s Serious Economic, Organised Crime and International Directorate (SEOCID) has the governance, assurance and oversight arrangements it needs to support high-quality legal decision-making.

We found that SEOCID has established effective governance, management oversight and assurance arrangements which support the delivery of high-quality casework in a highly complex and high-risk environment.

The directorate now has an opportunity to build on these strong foundations by ensuring that learning generated through its extensive assurance activity is captured, analysed and disseminated more systematically across the organisation. Doing so will help ensure that improvements are embedded consistently and that good practice is shared across all parts of the directorate.
